About the Artist and Art

Terry South

Terry South has dreamt of flying WWII aircraft since he was a child. Those dreams, together with God-given talent, have resulted in some of the most beautifully detailed aviation drawings available today. Terry has no formal art training but instead has learned his craft through years of drawing experience and by studying the works of great aviation artists such as Keith Ferris, Craig Kodera, Roy Grinnell and James Dietz.  To support his drawing hobby Terry works as an Air Traffic Controller at Chicago Center in Aurora Illinois, and lives in Dixon, Illinois with his wife Kristie and four children . The South's are very active in their church, Harvest Time Bible Church in Rock Falls, Illinois. Terry is also an avid BMW motorcyclist and pilot who is currently building a Cozy Mk. IV!

About the Art

Terry's art work begins with WWII military aircraft and extends to those of the present-day. He also draws other subjects that are more personal and close to home such as childrens portraits. All of Terry's  original drawings are done in pencil for near photographic realism, and (in most cases) the lithographs are signed by the pilots who flew the planes. All lithographs are printed on heavy acid-free stock, are signed by the artist, and are shipped with a Certificate of Authenticity  and information about the aircraft and the pilot(s) who signed the print.
